Big Things Are Happening in Downtown Pryor!
Exciting changes are underway as we continue our mission to revitalize downtown. One of the biggest milestones? The unveiling of our official downtown district name: The Coo-Y-Yah District.
What’s Next for The Coo-Y-Yah District?
As we celebrate this exciting new chapter, the Streetscape Project continues to move forward! In partnership with the City of Pryor, EDTA, MUB, Cherokee Nation, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT), and other key stakeholders, this project is designed to enhance functionality, beauty, and accessibility in downtown Pryor.
The first phase focuses on the intersection of W Graham Ave (SH 20) and S Adair St and includes:
✔ Gateway Monuments – Eye-catching entryways that welcome visitors and highlight the district’s identity.
✔ Pedestrian-Friendly Enhancements – Safer, more walkable streets with bump-outs, improved signalization, and expanded sidewalks.
✔ Landscaping & Aesthetic Improvements – Greenery, public seating, and inviting gathering spaces.
✔ Wayfinding Signage – Beautiful, culturally inspired signs that help guide residents and visitors to key destinations.
The project is on track, with the final field review scheduled for March and construction beginning soon after.
